I think this is a great idea. I think it would be a great tool to show people what they can do with the footage and graphics here.

If you have your own server space, you could do this now. Cut together your stock footage demo, compress it for web use and add a link in your bio section using HTML. That's how I added all the text and images to mine...

Adding an embedded video or a link to a video would be just as easy. I've thought about adding my own footage demo, but then I'd want to always update it with the new footage I add. I think I'd get sick of updating it! LOL. Would be nice to add sound and music to really show how the clips could be used though.

That's a great idea about using your own server space and just linking to it.

I think it might be a good idea in general if there was a page with ideas on how footage could be used. Get a few producers to submit some ideas-- they could be video files or even still shots. This might encourage buyers to come back and post a still or clip of how they used the footage.

I would love to know how my stuff is being used. I can't wait until the day I am watching TV and I see one of my clips!

I see some producers have a full profile with a ton of text and images. I can't figure out how to set up my profile like that. I don't see any options for lots of text, when I click "profile" on top of the page.

Also, how do I set up a blog? and how can I view other producers' profiles?

blogs just became active a few days ago. i think it's pretty self explanatory once you get to your producer page.

How do I get to my 'producer page'? (and view others' producer pages for that matter)

to see all the producers just click on "view by producer" on the left hand side links.

to see your portfolio, just click on your producer name when you are viewing one of your clips.

It's just HTML tags. So to insert an image you'd put something like...

<IMG SRC="http://www.myserversomewhere.com/images/whudevuh/cool.jpg" WIDTH="200" HEIGHT="100">

You just need to link the image from a server you have access to, even if just a flickr.com account or something.

For any other HTML tag info, the abundance of info on the net is plentiful.

I tried BBCode when I first created the profile but it didn't work. I was surprised that HTML did work though. So unless they change it, it's only HTML for now.

Heh, believe me, I prefer raw HTML as well! I'm just surprised it's even an option to use!
