Pre-Rendered QT mov files

Postby otavideo » Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:48 pm

Working on AE CS5.5. Just purchased several AE3 templates and on some, the pre-rendered elements (mov files) are showing up green in AE. They play fine in QT but show as green in AE. Files in questions use the Photo JPEG codec, but like stated, play fine in QT. Any advice is appreciated.

Hello,

Have you attempted to contact the producer of the templates ? You can PM them through the forum or you can leave a comment/question on the clip info pages for the templates in question.

As a point of general reference.... it is always helpful to provide the system you are working on Mac/Windows and your OS version in addition to your mentioning that you are on CS 5.5. This info helps eliminate the 'back and forth' and assists the producer or the Revostock Helpdesk in troubleshooting any issues.

Also....if you haven't already.... I would submit a HelpDesk Ticket to RevoStock with all relative info and the template ID #s in question.

Hope that helps....

Hi Otavideo,

I believe we answered this for you via the helpdesk, but will post here as well for future enquirers.

After Effects CS5+ has a bug in dealing with Quicktime PhotoJPEG codecs and renders the entire video in green. The quickest solution is to run those clips through your encoder into another format and you should be all set.

Thanks and let us know if you have any other questions!

Yes, thank you RevoStock1, re-encoding assets with an alternate codec did the trick, files playing like they should now, thanks.
