STEP 1. Study our tutorial. There are several legal implications when dealing with stock footage. Understanding these as well as our standards of quality will help ensure that your footage submissions are accepted rather than rejected. You should also look over our Terms and Conditions.
STEP 2. Take our footage submission quiz. Before being approved to upload footage, you will need to pass our footage submission quiz which will test you on your understanding of the information in our tutorial.
STEP 3. Provide your PayPal information in order to receive your royalty payments.
RevoStock.com exclusively uses PayPal to pay our producers their royalties. If you don't have a PayPal account, please create one before submitting your application. After you take our quiz, you will be asked to submit the email address that is associated with your PayPal account. For more information on our payment methods and royalties, see our FAQ.
STEP 4. Submit three different/distinct sample pieces of footage. We want to see what you can do, so ideally, please upload a variety of shots rather than 3 shots of the same subject, etc. Before applying, please prepare your three pieces of footage to upload according to the following specifications:
- NTSC 720 X 480: Submit your samples as QuickTime MPEG4 at 320 X 240 pixels resolution using a high quality setting. This is half the size of the full video.
- PAL 720 X 576: Submit your samples as QuickTime MPEG4 at 320 X 288 using a high quality setting. This is half the size of the full video.
- HD/HDV 1280 X 720: Submit your samples as QuickTime MPEG4 at 427 X 240 pixel resolution using a high quality setting. Basically this is 1/3rd of normal size.
- HD/HDV 1920 X 1080: Submit your samples as QuickTime MPEG4 at 480 X 270 pixel resolution using a high quality setting. Basically this is 1/4th of normal size.
- Footage length must be between 5 to 15 seconds long. Looping motion backgrounds must be between 10 to 20 seconds long. FX and transitions may be as low as 2 seconds long.
