Audio Application Tutorial

1. AUDIO QUALITY

AUDIO SOURCE

Music and Sound Effects uploaded to RevoStock should be created/recorded using only professional level audio equipment ( microphones, mixers and instruments.)

LEVELS

Please inspect your levels and visual inspect your audio file if possible to be check for clipping, pops, cracks, noise or other negative audio issues.

NOISE

As a rule, audio files uploaded to RevoStock should be clean and noise-free. The only exception would be in the case of ambient situations where some sort of noise is absolutely necessary and is purposefully included and intended. Keep your files as clean and clear as possible.

CONTENT

RevoStock.com is only looking for high quality, interesting and useable content. Audio files that come across as being "homemade" will not be accepted.

OBSCENE CONTENT

RevoStock reserves the right to refuse any content that we consider pornographic, obscene, offensive, sexually suggestive, controversial, or audio that simply does not fit into the RevoStock library. Audio including sexually suggestive or offensive themes will not be accepted into the RevoStock.com library.

FILE FORMATS

ACCEPTED FORMATS

RevoStock will accept audio in one of the following formats.:

WAV
AIFF
MP3 - MP3 files must be encoded at 320KBps.

BIT-RATE AND SAMPLE RATES

Our system will accept audio files uploaded at sample rates of 44.1 Khz or 48 Khz. Please do not upload files recorded at other sample rates as our encoder will not recognize them. All of your audio should be 16-Bit only.

LENGTH

Music - Music files should be at least 15 seconds long. All music should have a relative amount of complexity, even at the 15 second length to set them apart from a "loop."
Sound Effects - Sound FX files may be 1 second up to 5 minutes long, but our reviewers check to make sure that the sound is relevant. In other words, if the Sound Effect is 5 minutes long there needs to be enough variety to warrant 5 minutes.

Can I sell my music "loops" at RevoStock? RevoStock does not currently sell "loops." You can sell your looping music, however. In other words, if your file is simply a repeating beat or phrase (a loop) then we will not accept it, but if you have an actual music piece with at least a few aspects or parts, but it happens to be seamlessly loopable, we typically will accept it.

4. ACCOUNT AND ROYALTY PAYMENT INFORMATION

REVOSTOCK ACCOUNT INFORMATION

Your RevoStock profile/account information MUST BE accurate and fully filled out. We need your full and correct phone and address information before we will be able to approve your account. You may be receiving a verification call from our address/phone verification service.

ROYALTY PAYMENTS

RevoStock only makes royalty payments via PayPal or MoneyBookers It is free to sign up with either of these services.

Your royalties are collected until you choose to withdraw them and receive payment. For instance, you may want to wait until your royalties reach $100 before withdrawing them. To withdraw, click on the "Withdraw Royalties" link under Producer Tools in the left-nav bar. There you may either choose to withdraw these royalties or convert them into credits and receive bonus credits. Royalty withdrawals must be made on or before the 8th of each month. On the 15th of each month we do a mass payment to paypal and MoneyBookers which submits all the royalties for payment at one time. If you have any questions please contact us.

You MUST withdraw your royalties by the 8th in order to receive them on the 15th. If your royalties are not withdrawn by the 8th, you will have to wait until the next month to receive payment.

5. PRICING YOUR AUDIO ON REVOSTOCK

MICROFLEX PRICING

RevoStock's MicroFLEX pricing allow you to set your own prices for your audio files within a certain range. This gives our producers pricing flexibility while also giving our buyers consumer confidence when searching our website. For music files, you we also use 3 different license types, each with a different pricing range:

6. COPYRIGHTS

OWNERSHIP

You absolutely MUST be the sole creator/producer/recorder or you must have full and complete ownership rights to all aspects of the audio files you upload and sell through RevoStock.com.

MUSIC - Any music files uploaded to RevoStock must have been recorded/created/produced by you or under your authority. You may not under any circumstance upload to RevoStock any music files that you do not own the complete rights to.
SOUND FX - Any sound effects uploaded must have been recorded BY YOU. You may not under any circumstance upload to RevoStock any sound effect files that you yourself did not personally capture and record with your own sound recording equipment.

You may not under any circumstance upload any music OR sound FX files that you acquired from other sources such as CD's or files you downloaded from other royalty-free audio websites. Users who upload files that the user does not fully own will be subject to immediate termination of their RevoStock account and may be subject to legal prosecution.

TALENT RELEASES

If your music includes vocalists or musicians beyond yourself you will need to include a talent/musician release . When you upload your audio you will have the chance to upload your model release. Print out the talent release, have it filled out and signed. Then scan it, or take a picture of it and upload it when you submit your audio using our model/talent release page.

What if my file is registered with a Performing Rights Organization? If your file is registered with a PRO like ASCAP or BMI you will need to note this in the file information when you upload and register the file into our system. When your file is purchased, RevoStock's system creates a cue sheet for the buyer with instructions on submitting the sheet. RevoStock does not handle cue sheet submissions.
